This guide will show you how to download all of the files on the Desktop Theme page and how to install them into your computer.

Select one of the following for directions:

Mouse Cursors
Mouse Cursors are the small images that move with the mouse, like the arrow and hourglass. Most of the mouse cursors can be changed by doing the following:

    Directions
  1. Double-Click on My Computer from the the Desktop
  2. Double-Click on Control Panel
  3. Double-Click on Mouse
  4. Click on Pointers at the top
  5. Select the pointer that you wish to change
  6. Click on Browse
  7. Find the file and select it
  8. Click on OK
  9. Click on OK

Program Icons
Icons are the images found on your programs, folders, and other files on your computer. To change many program icons, the recycling bin icon, folder icons, etc... you should download a program called Microangelo 98 Engineer. This program can be found at http://www.microangelo.com/.

Windows Wallpaper
Wallpaper is the image seen in the background of the Windows 95 desktop. It can be changed by doing one of the following things:

    Directions for .bmp files
  1. Move the .bmp image into the C:/Windows/ folder
  2. Right-Click on the Desktop
  3. Double-Click on Mouse
  4. Select Properties
  5. Click on Background at the top
  6. Under Wallpaper, Select the the name of the wallpaper you wish to use
  7. Toggle between the Tile and Center options for the desired appereance
  8. Click on OK

    Directions for .jpg and .gif files
  1. Open the file in a browser (ie Netscape, Microsoft IE,...)
  2. Right-Click on the image
  3. Select Set as Wallpaper

Wav Sounds
Wav Sounds are the things you hear when you open and close Windows, open windows, display an error message, etc...

    Directions
  1. Double-Click on My Computer from the the Desktop
  2. Double-Click on Control Panel
  3. Double-Click on Sounds
  4. Select the sound that you wish to change
  5. Click on Browse
  6. Find the file and select it
  7. Click on OK

Startup/Shutdown Screens
These are the images you see when you startup and shutdown your computer. There is a Readme file located in the Zip containing these files. Read it for installation directions.
